Jackson Dinky DKMGT Emg
Jackson Guitars are made to be played & played hard! A Jackson doesn't do blues, it hates pop & it doesn't understand Jazz. A Jackson guitar just wants to be drop tuned & played hard, fast & dirty! You only need to look at the awesome line up of some of worlds most aggressive guitar players to see what we mean. Guys like Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine), Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory), John Campbell (Lamb of God), Mark Morton (Lamb of God), Zakk Wylde & Serj Tankian (System of a Down) are all Jackson users - and you wouldn't argue with them, would you!?

Introduced in Jan 2001 the DKMGT has an Alder body with a flame maple veneer top on transparent colors. It’s available in Black, Black Forest, Cobalt Blue, Satin Black solid colors and transparent black and transparent red. The hardware is all black and there is no pickguard on this guitar. It features an adjustable JT390 Tune-O-matic style bridge with the strings routed through the body for a tailpiece. With the strings being routed through the body has a more direct connection to the body which improves the tone and sustain over other types of bridges.
The 25.5 inch scale length neck is made of Rock Maple and has a scarf joint at the head stock. This joint isn’t as visible as other types of wood joints so you will hardly notice it. The neck itself is bolted onto the body as it is on the DKMG version. It also has a compound radius which has a more curved radius (fretboard) in the 1st fret position and then gradually gets flatter as it goes up the neck. The radius at the 1st fret is 14 inches and a 16 inch radius at the 24th fret. These are flat neck as compared to the say the Fender Strats which on average have a 9.5 inch radius. A flatter neck is better for lead playing. There are 24 jumbo frets on a rosewood fretboard. On the fretboard MOTO Piranha Tooth inlays are used as position markers. These are smaller inlays placed near the edge of the fretboard. The necks thickness at the first fret is .735 inches and gradually gets thicker as you go up the neck where at the 12th fret its .810 inches. The machine heads are die-cast sealed tuners and are mounted 6-inline across a reversed pointed headstock. Around the neck you’ll find an Ivoroid binding.
The electronics are somewhat simple with a master volume control and tone control as well as a 3-way pickup selector. The pickup used at the bridge position is the EMG® 81 while the neck pickup is an EMG® 85. The 81 bridge pickup is designed for lead playing and is a high output type with plenty of attack and smooth sustain. It sounds best at high volumes with plenty of distortion. It’s also less noisy than other humbuckers in its range. This helps when used at extreme distorted levels. The sound of the pickup when distorted has a consistent sound with long sustain and a smooth breakup while fading out. The EMG85 is placed in the neck (Rhythm) position and has more output than the 81. It has a more natural sounding distortion with more warmth and a low end as well as a ‘fatter’ high end. This is caused by the use of Alnico magnets. It works best in the Rhythm position has a natural sound distortion.

Jackson Dinky DK2S Sustaniac RW
Now a hot, Alder-body Jackson® Dinky-style guitar is available with the insane Sustainiac system! Its double locking JT580LP tremolo and Duncan Design humbuckers make it a powerful, versatile guitar to start with but the Sustainiac pushes it over the top. The Sustainiac Sustain System is one of the best sustain systems on the market today and the DK2S has got it! The Sustainiac is simply a 9-volt system that can sustain a note, or chord, or the harmonic of the note, and even blend the fundamental with the harmonic to create an awesome screaming tone. It operates on one 9-volt battery contained in its own housing for easy access. Turn it on and you can hold any note or chord indefinitely. Flick the switch while holding the note or chord from the fundamental to the blend mode and listen to it scream. This is also one of - if not the only - system that has a driver that is actually a pickup. Some other systems use capacitors on the circuit board to make the bridge or middle pickup sound similar to what the neck pickup is supposed to sound like - but not the Sustainiac. The driver is a pickup that gives you the true tone of the neck pickup. Plug one in and see what you've been missing!

Jackson Dinky DK2 Skull
It's both a looker and a screamer with Duncan Designed SC101s in the neck/mid and an HB102B in the bridge position. The alder body is fitted with a shred-eriffic rock maple neck and a bound compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Transparent finish models have a stunning flamed maple top. The neck joint features a scalloped heel for uninhibited access to the upper frets.Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording, and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out.
